One Week In Bali: The ULTIMATE 7-Day Route Guide
Heading to Bali for one week? I've got you covered with a seven day route guide on where to stay/eat & what to do!
You're heading to Bali for one week and not sure what route to take? I've got you covered as I've mapped out the best places to see (without rushing), including where to sleep, eat and what to do along the way!
Let's go!...
Day 1-2: Seminyak
Seminyak is around a 45 minute/ 1 hour car journey from the airport depending on traffic so it's a great first port of call.
What to expect from Seminyak? Seminyak is trendy, sophisticated and packed full of uber cool hotels (including the W and Anantara), restaurants, beach clubs and bars. It's a great place to enjoy your first few days fighting jet lag, eating good food and soaking up some rays on the beach (or at the beach club, whatever floats your boat!).
Where to stay? Liberta Hotel, Jalan Petitenget No. 2, 80361 Seminyak, Indonesia
Another blogger kindly recommended the Liberta hotel to me and I LOVED it! I paid around £20 per night so it was super affordable but still lovely, from the Instagrammable lobby, to the comfy rooms and swimming pool - this place was a bargain! Oh, and it's right in the mix of it too so you're a 5/10 minute bike journey from most places!
Where to eat? The food in Seminyak is DELICIOUS! There's so many cool spots that you have to try out! Here's a few of my favourites!
Brunch & coffee: Kynd Community (AMAZING healthy breakfasts - infamous Instagram cafe!) | Coffee Cartel (again super Instagrammable - great coffee!) | Cafe Organic (delicious, healthy food!) | Nalu Bowls / Shelter Cafe (if you're after a smoothie bowl then Nalu Bowls is great - it's located in Shelter cafe, so if you're after something more substantial then the food at Shelter is great!) | Mad Pops (delicious Vegan ice cream, great for photo ops too!)
Dinner & drinks: Strawberry Fields (Delicious healthy food throughout the day too - cocktails are amazing!) | Motel Mexicola (awesome Mexican food) | La Favela (cool bar) | Potato Head Beach Club (infamous beach club!)
What to do? Spend the day partying at Potato Head Beach Club or relax on the beach, dine at one of the many incredible brunch spots, get some beauty treatments at one of the lush salons (The Cottage House Spa was my favourite for a mani/pedi!), then round off the day in one of the cool bars!
Day 3-4: Canggu
Canggu is a great second stop on from Seminyak as it's only around 15/20 minutes by car! I spent just over a week in Canggu as I loved it so much, from the healthy breakfast spots, to the cool bars and watching the surfers - its paradise!
What to expect from Canggu? Canggu is like Seminyak's cooler, laid back sister! Canggu is where the cool kids hang out, that's for sure! But, don't be put off - I had an amazing time, from checking out the cool food joints to watching sunset at The Lawn and drinks at Old Man's - Canggu is a must!
Where to stay? Airbnb Villa in central Canggu
I stayed in a couple of cute guest houses & airbnb's whilst on my own in Canggu and when Ben joined me we stayed in this beautiful villa with a pool which was SO central (on the main road and just a 5/10 minute walk to the beach!). I'd highly recommend - it sleeps four too so great for a group!

Where to eat? You'll find lots of the same healthy/cool restaurants that are in Seminyak, are also in Canggu! They're all about smoothie bowls, vegan, clean eating and just getting that goodness in! I could eat in Canggu forever and be happy!
Brunch & coffee: Crate (the BEST place in Bali for breakfast - I ate there four out of seven days, SO good!) | Nalu Bowls (same as Seminyak but more of a shack in Canggu - super cute!) | Cafe Organic (super healthy & cute interiors!) | Gypsy Kitchen & Bar (great spot for brunch/lunch!) | The Shady Shack (delicious food!)
Dinner & Drinks: Luigi's (BEST pizza in Canggu - great for sharing!) | Old Man's (great spot for sundowners!) | The Lawn (THE spot to watch the sunset & delicious food!) | Black Cat Mini Mart (literally a mini mart shop, BUT walk through the fridge at the back of the shop & into a bar!) | Pretty Poison (skate park & bar, check it out - super cool!)
What to do? Enjoy lazy brunches at the many amazing foot spots, learn to surf on the beach, do some shopping at Love Anchor (great spot for bargains at the market stalls too!), watch the sunset at The Lawn and party at Old Mans!
Day 5-7: Ubud
From Canggu your trip to Ubud will take you roughly an hour, depending on traffic. Ubud is the perfect place to round off your week in Bali before heading back to the airport! I'd recommend 3 days as there's SO much to see and do, from the Ubud market, to the rice terraces, temples and so much more!
The route from Ubud to the airport is around 1 hour and 15 minutes but the traffic around the airport tends to be heavy and I'd allow 2 hours to be safe. If you're catching an early morning flight then I'd recommend booking somewhere close to the airport like Jimabran.
What to expect from Ubud? I absolutely LOVED Ubud and could have easily spent a few weeks there! It felt a lot calmer and was running at a slightly slower pace than Canggu and Seminyak. I loved wandering around the market, eating at local Warungs (restaurants), and exploring the temples. There really is so much to do - it's a great way to finish your week long trip to Bali!
Where to stay? Guest House close to central Ubud
I stayed in this super cute guest house for around £20 a night, as a solo traveller in Bali, as much as I loved meeting new people I also enjoyed some downtime on my own so often stayed in guest houses or airbnb's and this one was great! The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfy and it had a lovely pool too! It was also only a 10/15 minute walk into central Ubud which was great!
Where to eat? I mainly stuck to local Warungs whilst in Ubud as they were delicious and super cheap so be sure to check them out! The restaurants I did try out were delicious, all listed below!
Brunch & coffee: Clear Cafe (also great for breakfast / brunch too - an extensive menu!) | Watercress (I visited twice for breakfast and it was SO good - lots of choice & delicious!)
Dinner & drinks: Umah Pizza (the most DELICIOUS pizza - super cheap too!) | Clear Cafe (super yummy, healthy restaurant - a must visit the restaurant is such a cool concept!)
What to do? Visit the temples (there's plenty of them!), head to Tegalalang or one of the many rice terraces, explore Ubud Market (great for picking up some bargains!), Uma Pakel is a great shot for Instagram swings too!
There we have it - my first guide to Bali (sorry on the delay!), I also have a two week and a three week guide going live ASAP so keep your eyes peeled for those in case you're planning to stay for longer, as well as individual guides to specific places!
