Checking In: A Magical Overnight Stay At Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate
An insight to our magical overnight stay at the stunning Rudding Park Hotel & Spa in Harrogate!
Where? Rudding Park Hotel, Follifoot, Harrogate, North Yorkshire HG3 1JH
I'm going to start this post by making a *pretty big* claim... Rudding Park is my favourite hotel and spa in the UK. EVER.
Ben and I visited the hotel last weekend, whilst I was super excited to check it out (I'd heard great things from all of my northern girls), I honestly just had NO idea just quite how amazing it was going to be! It absolutely blew me away from the second we arrived!
I'm going to take it back to the beginning of our trip and talk you through our magical stay at Rudding Park!...
Arrival and our room...
Rudding Park is set in over 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, as we rolled up to the hotel, I was absolutely blown away by just how beautiful the grounds and the hotel itself where (we hand't even stepped inside yet!).
We unloaded the car and were welcomed by a super friendly porter who helped escort our bags to our room. We arrived at the hotel around midday and used the spa until our room was ready (best way to spend the afternoon I'm telling you!).
We were checking into one of the Follifoot Wing Rooms; which was absolutely stunning! Our room had a private terrace that overlooked the beautiful hotel gardens, a roll top bathroom, kingsize bed and a walk-in steam shower (which I struggled to prise Ben from!).
The Spa...
Rudding Park Spa was recently voted the best spa in the UK and it's absolutely NO surprise as to see why, it's out. of. this. world!
I've never seen a spa so extensive, complete with; a roof top spa and garden (such a nice area to lounge in - we were SO lucky as it was 30 degrees on both days during our stay so we packed in some much needed R&R, and sunbathing!), an indoor & outdoor pool, an escape zone complete with a 'visual relaxation' room (highly recommend), an outdoor panoramic sauna, a foot spa and SO much more!
Ben and I were so overwhelmed and agreed we could have easily spent 3/4 days just experiencing the spa alone, there was so much to do! During our stay we shared a Rasul mud ritual and I had a signature massage which was lovely.
The food: Horto restaurant
During the evening we were fortunate to dine at Horto (latin for kitchen garden); the hotels 3 AA rosettes restaurant.
"The menu is dictated by nature, the skill of the Gardener and the flair of the Chef"
We opted for the 7 course taster menu, advised by our waiter to get a true feel of what the restaurant had to offer, accompanied with a four course wine pairing - it was absolutely delicious! Yet another part of the hotel that blew us away, the food was a culinary delight and the restaurant had a luxe, yet relaxed feel which I really enjoyed!
The hotel...
On our drive home Ben and I couldn't stop praising Rudding Park and saying how we honestly felt like we'd just been abroad! The hotel, the service, the rooftop spa - everything was just perfect, the attention to detail was second to none!
Along with the award winning spa, the hotel offers an 18 hole Hawtree golf course, along with a 6 hole Repton short course, an indoor cinema (available for hire for up to 14 people, luckily no-one was booked out to use the cinema during our stay so the hotel kindly let us book in after dinner, we sat and watched Notting Hill in our robes with prosecco and it was BLISS!), a library with a lovely chill area, a kitchen garden which supplies produce for the restaurant and a picnic service! Phew.
Now, you can understand how and why this hotel is by far my favourite in the UK right?!
The decor
Decor isn't usually something that I'd talk about in a hotel review, nor is it something that I'm usually really blown away by, but oh my GOD the decor at Rudding Park was serious INTERIOR GOALS!
I love the fact the hotel was really fresh and modern but it had a super luxe twist with the details, lighting and furnishings! As we're saving for our first home, I'm super into interiors right now and trust me when I say I'm referring to these snaps when we decorate! <3

I can honestly stay that our stay at Rudding Park was just perfect, from the second we arrived until we left! We've both said that it's our happy place and we'll hope to make it a yearly treat to take a night or two break there (we're already planning a trip back near Christmas!).
