Checking In: One Week At Tivoli Alvor With Jet2
Spending one week on the Algarve at the Tivoli Alvor with Jet2holidays!...
Last month Ben and I headed on a week long holiday to Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort which can be found on Jet2Holidays , located on the stunning Algarve coast line, just 50 minutes from Faro airport - we couldn't have picked a better spot to soak up some Portuguese sunshine and explore this beautiful region.
Our flight arrived mid-morning so we hopped on our transfers to the Algarve with Jet2holidays, and arrived at the hotel at lunchtime. We checked into our spacious "Family Room", once we were settled and unpacked we headed to the main buffet restaurant "Essenze" for a bite to eat before hitting the pool for a chilled afternoon lazing in the sun.

One of our favourite things we loved about Tivoli Alvor was the dining, Ben and I are massive foodies so great food on holiday is super important to us! We wanted to try out all three A La Carte restaurants whilst we were there; "Carosello" - the Italian, "Roastic" - the steakhouse and "Mad Med" - the Mediterranean.
Our favourite of the three was the steakhouse, we had such a wonderful evening enjoying beef steak and chilled red wine - it was delightful! We also really loved the main buffet restaurant, "Essenze" where we dined daily for breakfast, lunch and a couple of dinners!
One night we ordered takeout pizzas and wine from the Italian restaurant and took the short 10 minute walk down to the most beautiful beach (there's a bridge / path in front of the hotel that leads you all the way there), to read our books & watch the sunset, it was such a beautiful evening that I'll never forget!

Our favourite thing about the resort was the adults-only cabana area and pool (there was a further 3 pools for adults with children too, so something for everyone!), it was super chilled and quiet around this pool which we both loved!
We'd pitch up at a cabana during the day with our books to enjoy soaking up some sun and relaxing, they had beds in the pool to lay on and cool down which I thought was a lovely touch!
The hotel also offers daily classes such as free yoga and meditation - I took one of the 10am yoga classes and it was a wonderful way to start the day! You'll also find a Wellness Centre at Tivoli Alvor, here you can book yourself in for a luxurious treatment, go for a workout, use the sauna or relax by the heated pool!

The resort is the perfect location on the Algarve, just 50 minutes from Faro airport, 30 minutes from Lagos and 10 minutes from Portimao; it was a great base for us to explore.
On the Sunday we spent the day in Lagos, we booked a caves and grottos boat tour with GetYourGuide which I would highly recommend, it was such great value for money! After the tour we wandered around Lagos, stopped for tapas, grabbed a coffee to go and explored the beautiful streets. I'd definitely recommend a day trip from the hotel!
We also left the hotel early one morning to walk along the boardwalk (in front of the beach from the hotel), into Alvor (around 20 minutes), we explored this beautiful fishing village and stopped for breakfast before heading home - it was a gorgeous walk (the beach at Alvor is lovely too, and if you'd prefer a taxi then it's only 5 minutes by car).
