A Guide To Mallorca
Sharing my top tips on where to stay and what to do on your visit to Mallorca!
Hey lovelies - I've *accidentally gone through one of those phases where I've not shared any blog content for ages, the weeks just slip by then I realise I've not posted so SORRY about that!
We recently spent one week in Mallorca for my birthday and lots of you guys messaged on Instagram (@Frockmeimfamous if you're not already following along), to say you'd love some tips for the island so I thought I'd put together a post on our trip!
I've been to Mallorca when I was younger (I *think to Alcudia and Palmanova which I believe are more tourist hot-spots - I was quite young when we visited so I don't remember too much!), so this visit almost felt like it was the first time I was visiting as I just couldn't remember much from before!
We were looking for somewhere close-ish to home, the flights from London Southend were just over 2 hours which was perfect for us, plus I'd seen so many people visiting the island recently and it just looked SO majestic! I'm ashamed to say I'd previously over looked it a little bit and not given it too much thought to booking a trip, but I am SO glad it was brought to my attention on Instagram and we booked it because it really is the most magical island!
So, without me waffling on anymore - let's kick off my guide to Mallorca! I'm going to share places we visited and loved - I hope you have the best trip too if you're visiting soon!...
Valldemossa:
Where we stayed: Mirabo de Valldemossa
We spent two nights at the STUNNING Mirabo de Valldemossa, I spotted this gorgeous boutique hotel on the lovely Kate's Instagram and knew we had to visit. It was quite expensive, I paid around £300 per night (hence why we just spent two nights there, it was my birthday and wanted to treat us to somewhere really special), you absolutely get what you pay for and I can honestly say this finca is worth every penny!
The boutique hotel only had 9 rooms so it feels super exclusive and peaceful, the hotel was full but with guests in and out of the hotel all day and night it sometimes felt like we were the only ones there! The service and food were absolutely incredible, as were the views over Valldemossa, the pool and the rooms - we honestly felt like this would be a dreamy honeymoon destination it was so special and we'll definitely be back!
Where to eat? Es Taller Valldemossa
On my birthday night Ben booked us a table at Es Taller (the hotel manager said this was his favourite restaurant in Valldemossa too, and a super popular choice amongst guests!), the food was a mix of tapas and asian and everything we had was SO good!
If you're staying at Mirabo or even visiting Valldemossa, I'd 100% recommend booking a table here, it reminded me of an uber cool NYC restaurant - the vibe was really lovely and the food was incredible!
Soller:
After we checked out of Valldemossa we drove up to the north to spent our next five nights in Pollenca, we drove along the coast and wanted to explore Deia but the town was just so busy so we carried on and stopped off at Soller, a gorgeous town (with a port too), that our hotel manager recommended.
We stopped off for lunch at La Casona de Soller, which was such a lovely spot! After lunch we had a wander around Soller and grabbed some Gelato, it's such a lovely place to stop off!
Pollenca & Alcudia Old Town:
Where we stayed: Air bnb Pollenca
We spent five nights in this Airbnb in Pollenca - the decor was super cute and it was in the middle of nowhere which we loved (you 100% need a car if you're booking), the only down side I'd say was that it wasn't stocked very well with general cooking / cleaning stuff so we bought most of the things we needed but other than that it was lovely!
It was so lovely spending five nights exploring the north of the island - we absolutely adored Alcudia Old Town, Pollenca Port and also this gorgeous beach we discovered - I'll share some of my favourite spots below!...
Port de Pollenca...
Our Airbnb was just a 10/15 minute journey from Port de Pollenca, we visited on Wednesday to check out the market (I think the main market is on a Sunday), but they also have a smaller market of around 200 stalls on a Wednesday, we didn't actually buy anything but it was lovely to have a wander around all the same!
We stopped off at The Cappuccino cafe for a coffee & Ben grabbed some breakfast, it's a lovely little spot over looking the port (a little pricey but nice all the same), I'd definitely recommend a trip to the port, there's some really love boutique shops and you can find a spot on the beach to enjoy the sun & grab a coffee - perfect for a morning exploring!
Alcudia Old Town...
We absolutely adored Alcudia Old Town, it was just a 10 minute drive from our Airbnb and was such a gorgeous town - so pretty (FULL of photo ops!), great restaurants and it never felt super busy / touristy so it was perfect for wandering around or grabbing food!
We stumbled across Osteria El Patio for lunch one day and omg the food was SO good that we booked to go back the next night and have dinner in their lovely garden patio! I would 100% recommend this restaurant if you're looking at visiting Alcudia Old Town!
Playa Sant Pere Beach (AKA paradise)...
We were actually looking for another beach when we stumbled across Playa Sant Pere and oh my GOD this beach cove is actual PARADISE!! Some of the clearest water I have ever seen - I'm not a massive fan of going in the sea but I spent so much time in the ocean here I absolutely loved it!
We adored the rugged coastline it was so beautiful - this beach is a 100% must visit if you're heading to Mallorca!!
Other things to note!...
I wanted to share another couple of tips from our trip!...
1.) We visited Nura Chill Restaurant on our last night, it's located just north of Alcudia and was such a lovely spot - the restaurant itself is super new and has only been open a few months, but WOW - the food was amazing! The vibe was super chilled and laid back which we both loved, I'd love to go back here when we return!
2.) We drove a little further up Alcudia one day and had lunch at Ponderosa Beach which was really lovely, the food was delicous (we had Paella!), the beach it's set on it's super gorgeous too, a little busy but lovely all the same!
3.) We spent half a day at a gorgeous beach called Cala Sant Vicenc, a beautiful spot of 3 coves, again not as many as the main beaches and a lovely spot to spend a few hours or the day!
That pretty much wraps up our trip to Mallorca - if you're visiting soon then I hope this post helps you with some places to go stay, if you weren't planning on visiting then I hope this post inspires you too as the island is really so stunning! X
