Our Home Office Makeover
A little tour of our recent home office makeover!
Afternoon loves! With the recent completion of our home office I thought I'd share a blog post with our before & afters, plus the process, and products we've used!
Some of you might remember my home office makeover last year with Simply Be, my office was the first things I decorated as I spend a lot of time working in there, but as the year went on, I just felt like it wasn't very me.
Before we bought the house, the only decorating experience I'd ever had was in my bedroom at my parents house, throughout our year of owning our home, we've really put our stamp on the house and started to discover what our style is!
I felt like it was time to de-pink my office and put slightly more of my stamp on it! I wanted something quite neutral and peaceful as I spend a lot of time in the room and wanted to be able to focus / concentrate and be inspired!
Let me talk you through the makeover & share some before and afters!...
This is what the room looked like when we viewed the house! It was previously the home owners daughters room - all of the walls were a light pink and it felt very young!
When we moved in, I painted all of the walls white, with the back wall in Craig & Rose 'Wedgwood Lilac' to have one feature wall!
Whilst I loved the pink I'd added, it just didn't feel very 'me' and slightly too girly - I also really wanted to rip up the carpet as it made the room feel dark (it's already a small room!). So LOL at 6pm on a Wednesday night after a glass of wine I decided to rip up the carpet, sand the floorboards and paint them white!
I used Frenchic Al Fresco paint in Dazzle Me - I did 3 coats in total (obviously not all in one night, I'm not that crazy haha!), and LOVE the result - I can't believe how much bigger the room feels (we've now decided to rip up the carpets in our room, the spare room and on the landing too and use the same paint, we were so impressed!).
Here's how my home office is looking now!...
I feel so much happier with the room now - it feels so more ME! I feel super calm and focused when working in there and I'm really happy with the styling!
I went for mostly neutrals / beige with some splashes of sage green and black & white - I love the final look, what do you reckon? Head over to our home Instagram: @FMIFHome to watch my styling video!
