2020 Goals.

Sharing some goals for 2020!

Happy New Year my loves! Can anyone else believe It’s 2020 already?! No, just me then! Last year flew by – we’ve been in the house for one year already and it seemed that I blinked and it was January again!

I thought I’d take the time to sit down and send myself a few goals for the year, AND check in to say HELLO, because it feels like it’s been ages since I’ve done a chatty / life update post!

I’m not putting any pressure on myself this year with unrealistic goals as I find it’s so easy to get disheartened if you don’t achieve them. This year I wanted to set myself a couple of goals to work towards, and wanted to share them with you – I’d love to hear what your goals for 2020 are too!

Travel to 30 countries before I’m 30: Last year I didn’t travel so much, what with buying and decorating a lot of the house I spent a lot of time at home – which I absolutely LOVED, but I’m ready to travel again!

I’m turning 30 in September and wanted to reach 30 countries before I turn 30, I worked it out and so far I’ve visited 28 so far which I think makes this goal super achievable?! Countries that I haven’t visited yet that are super high on my list are: Japan, Canada, Croatia, Vietnam, Norway and the Philippines!

Take another solo trip: Another travel related goal, but I’ve been enjoying my solo adventures SO much the past 6 years, and I want to dedicate a little time to myself each year by taking a solo trip. I’d love to do Japan solo but it will be a pretty expensive trip, so maybe I’ll opt for somewhere closer to home, who knows?

Renovate the bathroom: We pretty much decorated the whole house last year and the only real big project left is the bathroom (aside from painting the hallway and finishing off my office). I’d absolutely love to get the bathroom updated, there’s nothing wrong with it, apart from it being dated – it would just be lovely to put our stamp on the final room in the house!

Read more: Over the festive period I read four books and LOVED every minute of it! One of my goals is to stop wasting time scrolling through social media / being online and read more! Taking time off over Christmas made me realise just how much I really love reading, and I can’t wait to get stuck into some more books this year! (If you have any recommendations please let me know, I’m always open to hearing about a good book!).

Spend more time looking after myself: Last year I joined a yoga class and started up running again and it felt GOOD! I wanted to continue looking after myself, eating healthier and getting more sleep – everything else just runs a lot smoother when you’re feeling your best!

Focus on doing what I love: I want to write more for the sake of it, to keep up my drawings, paintings and illustrations and to invest more time in photography. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the world of social media / admin and emails that it can so easily take over your day if you let it. I want to spend more time being creative and doing what I love!

Learn the piano: Towards the end of last year I started to teach myself the piano (just from YouTube – SORRY to every piano teacher out there haha!), Ben and I are going to take up lessons and invest in a starter piano – I’d love to start to learn properly and use my time in the evenings practising.

That just about wraps up my goals for the year – like I said nothing too unachievable, things I know I can achieve if I put my mind to it and I know I’ll feel all the better for it!

If you’re setting yourself resolutions for the year, just remember not to be too hard on yourself – they’re just goals after all, it’s so good to have dreams and goals, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t achieve them.

What are your goals for 2020? I’d love to know!
