Where we stayed? Alsia Mill, Sennen, Cornwall - booked via Boutique Retreats

A few weeks ago I took Ben, my brother Daniel, my dad and step mum on a family trip to Cornwall with Boutique Retreats and I have been SO excited to share this blog post with you all ever since.

I *know that I rave about Cornwall ALL the time, but after this post I'm sure you'll understand why! For me, it's my favourite place in the UK - it's really one of those places where you'll say to yourself 193622936 times during your trip, "I can't believe this is the UK!".

This was our third year with Boutique Retreats and I honestly couldn't love our trips with them anymore, we look forward to it so much every year, it's just so wonderful to spend some quality time together as a family!

The first year we stayed at the cute, quaint Meybn Cottage (you can read  all about our stay HERE), our second year with Boutique Retreats we stayed at the beautiful Whistler's View in St Ives (more on that HERE!).

When we arrived at Alsia Mill and have to say it had the complete 'WOW' factor from the second we laid our eyes on the property! This  stunning former farmhouse set in the middle of the countryside, sleeps 11 and has the most idyllic four acre garden!

I adored the huge open plan kitchen - it was clearly the hub of the house and where we spent most of our time! On the last full day of our stay, it was a drizzly Sunday - but it was the most perfect day! We opened the red wine, put on a bit of George Ezra and Ben cooked us the most EPIC roast dinner! We sat around the kitchen's island drinking, eating and laughing all day and it was the perfect end to our trip!

The decor complimented the farmhouse perfectly, lots of painted white floors, tonnes of character nodding to the history of the property, a log burning fire, gorgeous Feather & Black beds, under floor heatings and walk in showers.

This property really was a DREAM, one of my favourite aspects had to be that even though it slept 11, there was so many different areas, I feel like the house could be full of people but it would never feel over crowded! With cute reading corners, a snug room, and lots of outdoor space there really was so much space!

The location of Alsia Mill was only a 5 minute drive from Sennen Cove which is one of my favourite beaches in Cornwall! We discovered Sennen Cove during our trip to Cornwall last year whilst visiting Lands End and fell in love, so we knew we had to return and were so excited to spend some time there!

Sennen is pretty much as far West as you can go in Cornwall / the UK as it's just a short drive from Lands End, but it's the perfect base to discover Western Cornwall (the Minnack Theatre is a MUST!).

We loved the fact that Alsia Mill was set in the middle of the country as it was really peaceful and idyllic - the perfect escape from city life that we were all after! I also find when there's no outside distractions you can really focus on spending time together!

Oh, and if you have dogs then Alsia Mill is dog friendly (up to two), which is great for lots of country walks and to let them roam around the beautiful four acres of land on the property!

A note from my step mum, Teresa: "We absolutely loved our stay at Alsia Mill. Such a lovely quiet spot with beautiful gardens and a gorgeous, well appointed house to stay in. From sitting around the fire pit in the evening with a glass or two, to waking up in the morning to birds singing we could not have asked for anymore. We loved driving to Sennen Cove for lunch and a sleep on the beach in the afternoon and we were so sad to leave. Until next time Alsia Mill!"

The bedrooms at Alsia Mill were all so bright, beautifully decorated and really airy with a tonne of natural sunlight (one of my favourite things about the house!). The Master Suite was located on the second floor which an en suite bathroom and beautiful views over the garden, with another King and Double room on the first floor, and two twin bedrooms at the back of the house on the first floor which would be perfect for children if you're thinking of booking!
