I've been really looking forward to putting this post together - mainly because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone a little, and hope to encourage you to do the same!

Now if you've read any of my home posts, or follow me on Instagram, we have pink, honey, blue and grey in our home, so whilst I'm *no stranger to colour, bright colours isn't something I've really had much experience with!

A few weeks back I went to an event hosted by the lovely Sophie Robinson and Fiverr at the London Eye - Sophie was given a pod to makeover and it was a total breath of fresh air! There was so much colour everywhere, it was such a "happy" space, and it honestly made me feel so inspired. I knew instantly that I wanted to inject some bright pops of colour to my office!

For me, offices are somewhere that you need to feel inspired, happy and motivated to work. Whilst I loved my office before (you can see it HERE), there was a lot of pink and I feel like it needed to be broken up with some brights!

I know some people are a little apprehensive when injecting colour into their home, so I wanted to share five easy ways you could add colour into your home, if you're scared of using colour!...

1.) Colourful cushions!

Probably one of the quickest, easiest and most affordable ways to make a big impact on a room is with cushions! I absolutely LOVE a cushion (poor Ben is drowning in them!), but I love being cosy, and feel they can add real character and warmth to a room!

I adore my pink sofa from Simply Be, but wanted to break up the colour a little with some fun colours, prints and textures. My go-to brand for colourful cushions was Habitat, they always have really fun, bright cushions and they had exactly what I was after!

I can't believe what a difference the cushions made, they compliment the pink sofa / walls perfectly - I'm really happy with the cushions I picked as they work so well together!

I picked out the colourful 'Nora' cushion, the mustard velvet 'Regency' cushion, and the 'Eyes' cushion! (*kindly gifted to me by Habitat).

2.) Flowers!

If you're really worried about taking the leap to injecting colour, then flowers has to best the best way (SUPER affordable too), oh and they make your house smell delicious!

Sunflowers are my favourite flowers EVER, I just love how they're such a happy flower, they brighten up any room - and my mood instantly!

3.) Colourful Rugs

As I previously mentioned, that Habitat are my go-to for colourful furnishings (especially cushions, rugs and throws - they just nail it with run prints and fabrics!).

I picked out this beautiful 'Vida' multi-coloured Wool flat weave runner as I think it would be the perfect splash of colour in my room - I feel like it really brings the room together and sits well against the carpet! (Thinking of potentially taking the carpet up in the near future, sanding down the floorboards and painting them white, but we'll save that project for another day, hey?!).

4.) Candles

I'll be the first to admit that I have a serious candle obsession, I spend 95% of my time in Homesense / an interior shop sniffing candles - I LOVE them! (FYI Homesense do the best candles if you ask me!).

Candles are a fab way to inject some colour (these bright ones would look great against a white wall or something slightly darker too!).

5.) Postcards!

I love a browse in Paperchase and picking up a postcard or two (or five in my case!), I think postcards are a really affordable, fun way to make a feature wall and add some colour and motivation to your office.

I love the quote cards that Paperchase sell - they've add the perfect splash of colour to the wall above my computer! Paired with a couple of polaroids I'd say my gallery wall is off to a good start, I can't wait to build on it and add some more pictures and prints as I go along!

Are you quite playful with colour in your home? Would you consider adding some colour after this post? I hope I've encouraged you to add some bold colour to your home, just like Sophie encouraged me!
