When we bought our home, one of the things I really wanted in a house was three bedrooms, as we’ve moved an hour away from our families I knew I wanted a double room as a spare room for guests, but also knew I wanted a third (smaller) room for a home office (and one day hopefully it will become the babes room!).

The previous owners had this room as their girls bedroom with a single bed, we quickly realised that it wasn’t quite big enough for a double bed and we didn’t want to overwhelm it with furniture and make it seem smaller so decided to use for a home office / wardrobe / cosy space for reading and relaxing!

Ben has his playstation built in the lounge so that’s his chill space, so I decided to maximise the use of this room and create a little reading corner where I could unwind, light a few candles and dive into a good book!

Let’s talk about the before and afters first!...

So the room was VERY pink before (who am I kidding it still is!), but the first thing I did when we moved in was paint the room white to brighten it up, after a few weeks of working in the space I decided I wanted a little colour and opted for a feature wall! For ages I toyed with colour options but then decided I’d let my inner girly side run wild as this room would essential be a space for me and not something Ben would really use.

I painted the feature wall, radiator and skirting boards in ‘Wedgewood Lilac’ by Craig & Rose – the paint is AMAZING and such a lovely colour! I knew for the décor I wanted to keep it all quite girly so opted for grey and pink with small touches of gold and yellow. My wardrobes and desk are both white so I wanted to keep some colour with the furnishings and am SO happy with the result! I think at a later date I’d love to pull up the carpet, treat the floorboards and paint them white to really open up the room further! (but alas that will be done at a later date because I’m sure any of you with a home will know that there’s always 1036252846 jobs to do and you have to prioritise what *really needs to be done!).

Now for the exciting part – you guys *know I’m the BIGGEST fan of Simply Be, I adore their stuff, always have. I have some exciting new (in case you haven’t already seen), Simply Be have launched their own home range (yes I know, told you it was bloody exciting!), I was honestly SO thrilled when I found this out as it tied in so perfectly with us making over the house, and trust me when I say their stuff is utterly DIVINE (and super affordable too!).

So now I want to show you what Simply Be items I picked out for my office, and show you how I dressed them! I know you guys are going to love their home collection just as much as I do!

Let’s dive in!...

I’m going to start with this dreamboat pink two seater sofa – originally the space at the end of my room was a little wasted (my wardrobe and desk link the walls either side), so I wanted to make a feature of that area and turn it into a cute den area with lots of throws, cushions and candles to create an area to relax!

This sofa was the perfect focal point, I love the fact that it’s a two seater so I can use it with my best friends if they’re over (or when we get our kittens there’s room for them to snuggle up with me!!), I adore the colour and fabric and think it goes so perfectly against the pink wall (I love colour drenching – it works so well together!).

Next up is this gorgeous rose gold table, the rose compliments the pink sofa beautifully and works so well in the room! Now as this room is the only one in the house that I get *full reign over, I knew I absolutely HAD to get this pink tassel lamp (I’m sorry but HOW cute?!). It’s so girly but I love it and think it works really well with the gold accents in the room!

SHOP: Set of two rope baskets | Chunky knit grey throw | Fat Face Throw (sold out / similar HERE)

I absolutely LOVE a blanket basket (we have several dotted around the house as I love the thought of people being cosy in our home!), so I picked up these gorgeous cream rope tassel baskets, they come in a set of two and are perfect for storing blankets! The chunky grey knit blanket is my favourite – it’s SO cosy and perfect for curling up with and reading a good book! The dark grey tassel blanket is from Fat Face (currently sold out - you can shop a similar one HERE) and I love the injection of darker grey into a girly room!

SHOP: Grey Tassel Cushion

Also from Fat Face are these gorgeous grey tassel cushions, we have a slight bohemian vibe running through the house and I love the fact that these cushions and throws tie in with the feel of the house – they go so perfectly and break up the pink really well!

For decorative accessories, I picked out this beautiful pink and gold abstract framed print as it ties in all of the colours in the room perfectly, this set of three coloured vases (I love the yellow one with the dried flowers in – it looks so pretty on the table!), and this beautiful gold photo frame!

I adore dressing a room with accessories, I think it really makes such a difference to a room and just pulls everything together!
