Four Summer Occasionwear Looks With Simply Be
[ This blog post was kindly sponsored by Simply Be ]
First of all, I cannot believe it’s nearly Summer (how the HELL did that happen, huh?!). One of my favourite things about Summer, is the abundance of outdoor / fun / events and occasions!
Whether it’s a picnic with the girls, a garden party to celebrate someone’s birthday, an al fresco date night or a summer wedding. Now excitement aside, the first thing that will go through your mind (well, mine anyway!), is ‘what do I wear’?!,something that’s cute but comfy, something that will keep me cool (or warm if we get a typical English summer haha!), something that’s dressy but not *toodressy that screams LOOK AT ME!
I’ve picked out my favourite four dresses from Simply Be (you guys know I’m their biggest fan!), and styled them up with bags, shoes and accessories to show you exactly how you could wear them this summer, to whatever event you have planned!
To give you a guide, I’ve broken this post down into four sections; garden party, date night, picnic and wedding guest, to show you how I’d style the outfit for each occasion, but of course wear whatever you’d like to – this is just how I’m planning to wear them this summer!
Okay let’s get started!...
OUTFIT ONE: "GARDEN PARTY"
What I'm wearing: Floral dress | Lace up wedges | Orange circle bag
I’m going to kick this post off with my “Garden Party” look as I am OBSESSED with this floral dress! It’s floaty and loose fitting which means it’s basically perfect to wear to any social occasion as you can eat / drink until your heart is content and not have to worry about it being uncomfortable / tight! The floral / spot print is adorable – it adds a splash of colour without being too bold (a great introductory dress if you’re scared of colour / print!).
I styled this cute tea dress up with these lace up wedges which I’m low key obsessed with. I have to say I’ve never really been a ‘wedges’ kind of girl.. until these shoes came into my life! The wrap is super flattering on your ankles / legs and they really are so comfy which would be perfect for a party / all day event!
To finish off the outfit I opted for this cute orange circle bag, to match the orange pops on the dress and just generally pull this outfit together. Now – where’s my next garden party at?!
OUTFIT TWO: "DATE NIGHT"
What I'm wearing: Black dress | Lace up wedges | Tassel clutch bag | Gold earrings
If we’re set to have a repeat of last years summer then I don’t know about you, but I’ll be planning ALL of the Al Fresco date nights with Ben! Whether it’s drinks in a cute rooftop bar, a lovely restaurant or an outdoor cinema but I wanted to opt for something that was comfy, cool, yet sexy and I found my PERFECT solution in this black off shoulder dress!
The off the shoulder neckline is SO flattering, the material is stretchy so it’s comfy (perfect for dinner / drinks), and it’s short enough to be sexy, but not too short that you’re uncomfortable!
Again, I whipped out the lace up wedges (I mean they’ll be pretty much attached to my feet all summer!), and finished it off with a tassel clutch bag to add a casual touch and some gold drop earrings (bloody love a statement earring me!).
OUTFIT THREE: "PICNIC"
What I'm wearing: Heart print midi dress
I don’t know about you guys but I bloody LOVE a picnic in the summer, whether it’s with Ben, my girlfriends or even a solo picnic! There’s nothing better than packing a cute lunch, a bottle of rose and some good music / books and heading down to your local beach / park!
Dressing for a picnic for me, is usually pretty casual, something cute that I’m comfy and cool in – that’s why this heart print midi dress is the perfect picnic dress for me! I adore the flowy silhouette and the print is so lovely and summer, the perfect dress!
OUTFIT FOUR: "WEDDING GUEST"
What I'm wearing: Green floral maxi dress
Ahh the wedding guest outfit, the one that would usually fill most of us with horror no? There’s always that dilemma of ‘I can’t go too dressy as everyone will think I’m trying to out stage the bride’ vs. ‘I need to my outfit to be dressy enough for a wedding’.. don’t worry, we’ve ALLbeen there!
My fail safe for a wedding guest outfit would be a maxi dress – this green floral dress is the PERFECT outfit for a wedding as it’s dressy, the print is gorgeous (and perfect for a summer), and the fit is super flattering and comfy (thank GOD it’s not the year of body con dresses and no-one wants to miss out on the epic wedding food!).
I honestly couldn’t love this dress anymore – I think it’s a great versatile piece to have in your wardrobe as it could be perfectly dressed up for a wedding, or worn on holiday in the evening – something that you’ll get tonnes of wear from, that’s for sure!
There we have it guys, my four summer occasionwear looks from Simply Be! I’d love to know which one was your favourite? And whether you have any occasions coming up this Summer that you’re looking for outfits for?
