A guide to Las Vegas, from where to stay, eat and what to do during your stay there!

Edits-Vegas-6

Ahh Las Vegas, it really is one of those places that people either love or hate, and I have to say, I'm a LOVER!

I first visited Las Vegas last year during my Trek America Westerner 2 Tour and I fell in love with it the first time around. The thing I've found with Vegas is that you have to take it at face value, it's one of those places that is utterly ridiculous, but it's also really bloody fabulous too! Visit there with no expectations and embrace it for what it is, and you'll love it!

From the flashy casinos to museums, tasty restaurants and what to do in the evening, I've got you covered on your first trip to Vegas!

WHERE TO STAY: DOWNTOWN GRAND LAS VEGAS

206 N. 3rd St., Las Vegas NV 89101

I wanted to stay in downtown as we stayed there last year during our tour and I loved the location, it's just 10/15 minute drive from the strip, it has plenty going on and it's not as crazy as being in the hustle and bustle of the strip.

Oh, and it's super affordable! I booked us two nights at the Downtown Grand and paid roughly £70 per night, BUT you can get deals on Booking.com for as little as $20 per night if you book in advance!! Don't get me wrong the hotel isn't no Ritz, but it's totally fine, clean and in a great location, oh and there's free parking too! I'd absolutely recommend this hotel and would book again!

where to eat during the day: Vegenation

616 e carson ave, suite 120, las vegas, nv 89101

Kat scouted out VegeNation for some healthy, delicious food during our trip and we loved it so much that we went back twice! The one thing I noticed last year during my trip to Vegas was the food is pretty shocking, it's all buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinners and whilst the odd one or two is great, it's not something I'm here for all the time!

I'm not a vegetarian but Kat is so we were hoping to find something suitable for her, that was healthy and delicious and luckily we came across VegeNation which was also downtown and super close to our hotel.

The food was delicious and affordable so we went back two days running - I'd recommend it for anyone looking for something healthy to eat in Vegas - and help soak up those Mojitos from the night before! ;)

where to eat during the day: Tao

3377 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109

If you're a fan of Asian food then Tao is absolutely the ONE for you! Oh my GOD Kat and I went for dinner at Tao (located in the Wynn plaza) on the Friday night during our trip and had the most incredible meal!

We ordered a variety of dishes from Chilean Sea Bass with Miso Glaze, Hot Edamame, Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, and some Sushi rolls. Everything was absolutely delicious, and even though Tao is slightly on the pricier side (completely dependant on how much you eat and drink), it's 100% worth every penny! It's towards the end of our trip and we're still day dreaming of that meal!

what to do during the day: Neon Museum

770 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Las Vegas, NV 89101

Most people go to Las Vegas to party, and whilst the night life (and daytime parties) are amazing - there's also some pretty cool stuff to do during the day, including The Neon Museum!

We visited The Neon Museum ($20 entry for an adult) one morning and had such a great time wandering around. The museum homes tonnes of retired signs from the strip and downtown, it's such a cool place to see and also makes a backdrop for a few Instagram snaps too! I'd definitely recommend a visit - it's well worth a walk around!

what to do during the day: Soul Cycle

3131 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located in the Wynn plaza)

If you're looking to get in a little exercise or to burn off that hangover, then Soul Cycle is the one for you! I went to a Soul Cycle class (super similar to our Pyscle classes in the UK), on it's launch day in Las Vegas and absolutely LOVED it! The class was so fun, full of energy and the perfect way to start the day!

what to do at night: Magic Mike

4455 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89169

Okay so you guys already know that from my stories Magic Mike live was *quite possibly the best night of my life! Kat and I had a brain wave to visit earlier on that day, stopped by the Hard Rock and luckily grabbed two tickets for that night, we kind of went for a bit of a laugh and with no expectations.

I can honestly say it was bloody amazing and if you're on a hen do / girls trip then THIS IS THE NIGHT OUT FOR YOU!!!

There we have it my loves, my guide to Las Vegas including where to go, where to stay and what to do during both day and night!

Have you been to Las Vegas before? Is it somewhere you'd love to visit? What would you love to do during your visit to Vegas?

*I was a guest of Soul Cycle and Tao but our hotel and other activities mentioned in this blog post were all paid for. I'd highly recommend everything in this post! :)
