Sharing some snaps and an insight to our wonderful stay at the Spa Village Resort Tembok in Northern Bali!

Ohhhhh this is one hotel review I've been dying to share with you guys because it was my favourite place that we stayed in Bali - the Spa Village Resort Tembok Bali situated in the north of Bali.
When most people travel to Bali on holiday they tend to stick around the south / areas closest to the airport such as Ubud, Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Seminyak etc. BUT - today I'm here to tell you exactly why this beautiful resort is worth every second of the three hour journey from the airport and then some!
First of all I'm going to start with the journey there (the hotel can arrange drop off & pick up HERE if you need them too!), it's absolutely STUNNING! We passed so many picturesque spots, from temples, to roadside markets and rice paddies; it felt like true, authentic Bali and really gave me a taste for the country. I actually cried on the journey because it was just so beautiful and overwhelming (*might have something small to do with the hangover but we'll ignore that LOL).
We arrived at the hotel and was greeted with a fresh juice and a 10 minute back and shoulder massage carried out in the lobby to relieve any tension after the journey - for me, it's the little touches like this that make hotels so special!
I instantly fell in love with Spa Village Resort Tembok Balifrom the second we arrived, it was a true oasis in the north of Bali and I felt any ounce of stress/tension disappear the moment we stepped foot on the resort. It's luxurious but not flash, it's intimate but not too small, it's humble and authentic and everything it should be! Here's why I would recommend the resort to anyone in a heartbeat!...

THE ROOMS:
During our magical three night stay at Spa Village Resort Tembok Baliwe stayed in one of the resorts Kamar Rooms. The room reflected true Balinese decor and authenticity which I loved! Complete with a marble bathroom and balcony over looking the lush gardens of the resort; it really was such a special place to spend our time in the resort! Oh, and the best part?! You couldn't use WiFi in the rooms, so it really was all about quality time - the PERFECT honeymoon resort if you're looking to head to Bali!

THE SPA:
One of the resorts main focus is wellbeing so naturally the spa was absolutely out of this world! Around the resort you'll find daily yoga and packages to help you unwind and get in some downtime (couldn't recommend this resort anymore if you're looking for a retreat!).
I was fortunate enough to try out the Campur-Campur (spa village signature) massage which combines both Malay and Thai techniques and let me tell you now it was incredible! The staff will lead you to a shaded bed to relax before your massage, complete with some frozen Blueberries and fresh water, you'll then be led to a private massage room where you'll feel so zen and most likely start snoring!
The resort also offers massages under the stars and couples massages which is great if you are looking for a honeymoon destination!
THE GROUNDS & RESORT
One of my favourite things to do during our stay at the Spa Village Resort Tembok was just wander around; the resort wasn't huge (which I loved), but it was just so pretty and lush. In your room you'll find some tradition Balinese robes which you can wear around the resort (I absolutely made the most of this from the second I arrived!). It was so nice that there was no WiFi other than in reception, I felt truly grounded and connected during our stay, and honestly haven't felt that relaxed in a LONG time!
THE INFINITY POOL
Naturally I had to mention the infinity pool because that's where I spent 99.7% of our trip! The pool was my favourite part of the resort, it was so quiet and zen but the views were just out of this world!
Ben and I would have a lie in, go grab some breakfast then spend the day laying around the pool on the super comfy loungers before doing some yoga in the evening and heading for dinner! It was truly BLISS - how gorgeous are those views of the ocean?!
THE FOOD
The resort has one restaurant; Wantilan - and to be honest, it didn't need more than one because the food was always outstanding. We were at the resort on a full board basis and always looked forward to dining as the food was always delicious and super fresh!
The restaurant is a mix of Balinese an international cuisine, the menu is changed daily so there's always something delicious you haven't tried! We loved making our own Poke bowls at lunch and eating fresh seafood with wine in the evenings!
The resort also puts on themed nights and different dining nights, we were lucky enough to catch the BBQ night which was delicious! We sat outside on the grass and watched the sunset whilst watching traditional Balinese dancing - it was a night to remember!
THE LOCATION
Like I earlier mentioned the hotel is based around 2.5/3 hours north of the airport, but worth every second of the journey! We felt like we'd arrived in paradise and were truly able to switch off for the whole time we were there!
Another reason you need to check out the north of Bali?! I felt like our time in the north of Bali felt a lot more 'authentic', it was much quieter, we got to chat to the locals and experience the black sand beaches!
I'd recommend a trip to the north of Bali to anyone planning to visit! But what's more; I'd DEFINITELY recommend a stay at the Spa Village Resort Tembok Bali! The resort completely blew my mind and we've already vowed we'll return one day!
