Arriving at The Racha & initial thoughts...
I'll be completely honest here and say that when I arrived at The Racha, it was truly a "pinch me" moment, I couldn't believe my eyes - this place was truly paradise! I've been so excited to share my stay at The Racha and I have to say it was my favourite stay during my time in Thailand, I truly hope to return one day and hope that you guys get the chance to visit as it was the most magical place I've ever visited in Southern Thailand!
The Racha is around a 30/45 minute speed boat journey from Phuket; a true sanctuary located on Racha Yai in the Andaman sea. I headed to the resorts departure lounge at Chalong Pier in Phuket, to be greeted by some lovely hotel staff before grabbing the boat over to the resort! I knew that when I was asked which scent I would like in my shower that I was in for an absolute treat, but I could never have imagined quite how beautiful the resort would be!
The Racha is a part of the Small Luxury Hotel group and can be booked HERE, SLH are my go-to for luxury boutique hotels and oh my god this resort was NO exception! I was completely blown away by this paradise island and can whole heartedly say that you guys would adore it too; I think it would make an incredible honeymoon destination if you're considering Thailand (I'd visit anytime from December - February as the weather is incredible!).
Watching a magical sunset at The Racha Resort | A lovely treatment room at Anumba Spa
Anumba Spa & facilities...
During my stay I spent a morning at the stunning Anuma Spa enjoying a full body massage (it was H E A V E N), I absolutely adored the layout of the spa, it had an incredibly luxe feel with a huge Thai influence, I loved that the rooms were really bright and spacious, I felt so zen upon leaving!
Along with Anuma Spa, the resort offers a water sports centre (I borrowed some free snorkelling equipment and had a snorkel one morning which was a great way to kick start a morning in the resort!), The Racha Dive Centre (where they offer PADI scuba instruction and dive trips!), and the following complimentary services; daily yoga, fitness gym, guided island walks, pool table, tennis & a reading library.
The following services are available at The Racha at a charge; Thai cooking class, personal yoga session, guided sunset ATV tour and guided discovery nature walks to viewpoint. There's so much to do on the island! Oh, and did I mention the poolside cocktails are dreamy?! ;)

Relaxing by the hotels infinity pool | The stunning view of the Andaman sea from the beach
Steps leading up to my Junior Pool Suite | Worlds comfiest bed in my Junior Pool Suite | Views of the Andaman sea from the infinity pool!
I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the beautiful Junior Pool Suites during my stay at The Racha and I can honestly say that this room was definitely up there with some of the best rooms I've ever stayed in! I was blown away when I walked into the suite! I had a large sun terrace complete with sun loungers and a bed to relax on and shelter from the sun, an outdoor shower, HUGE bed, and oh my god the highlight; my very own pool with jacuzzi... yep, I couldn't believe it either! Don't judge me when I say I actually cried after I'd been showed around my room; I couldn't believe how beautiful it was!
Other room types available at The Racha include; Deluxe Villa, Grand Deluxe Villa, Grand Deluxe Pool Villa, Spa Pool Suite, Grand Pool Suite, 2 bedroom Grand Pool Suite (great if you've got kids!) and The Lighthouse (aka the coolest hotel accommodation I've ever seen!).
The stunning Grand Pool Suite private pool | Dinner at the Earth Cafe (a great spot for watching the sunset!)
On my first night at The Racha I had dinner at the wonderful Sunset Beach Restaurant; with it's relaxed vibe and stunning Thai cuisine, this restaurant was the perfect welcome onto the island, complete with a band singing acoustic songs during dinner... bliss! On my second and third night (I went back again because I loved it so much!), I dined at the Earth Cafe and had a delicious meal of Salmon with a mustard and herb bread crumb, gnocchi and mixed grilled vegetables, it was so incredibly fresh and yummy that I ordered the exact same thing the next night! I loved watching the sunset from Earth Cafe!
Other dining options on the island include: Fire Grill | Club Del Mar / Gerado's Gelato | Lobby bar / Ice Bar | Themed Buffets
The jacuzzi bathtub in my Junior Pool Suite | Another magical sunset | Outdoor shower in my Junior Pool Suite
Walking to the Anumba Spa | Hammocks by the beach
Have you ever stay at The Racha? Is this somewhere you'd like to visit? Have you booked through Small Luxury Hotels before? What did you think?
