My Top 10 Travel Destinations & Why You NEED To Add Them To Your Bucket List
Sharing my top 10 travel destinations in the world and exactly WHY you need to visit them ASAP!
Firstly, how MENTAL have the last two years been?! At times I feel like my feet have barely touched the ground, it’s been a whirlwind - the best kind of whirlwind though! From the Caribbean, to Asia, America, Europe and discovering more of the UK, I wanted to share my top ten destinations with you all and WHY I think you need to add them to your travel bucket list.. right now!
1.) Barbados - Ahhhhh Barbados, it’s so funny because whenever people ask me where my favourite destination is, I always reply with Barbados without even thinking - I truly left a piece of my heart there (NO I’M NOT BEING MELODRAMATIC K?!) - from the very moment we arrived to steel pans playing, to the friendliness of the Bajan people, the incredible island vibe to the food. There honestly wasn’t one thing about Barbados that I disliked - it holds a super special place in my heart and I’m secretly hoping to get married there one day!
2.) New York - Okay, okay so New York is my other FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WOLRD EVER. But you guys already knew that didn’t you?! You know how obsessed I am with the Big Apple and how I hope to live there one day, if only for a few months. Theres just something about that city that I can’t shake, from the vibrancy of the city that never sleeps to wandering around exploring the streets - I just BLADDY LAV IT and if you haven’t been that you absolutely HAVE TO.
3.) Cayman Islands - From swimming with stingrays to riding horses on the beach, our trip to the Cayman Islands was truly magical! From my first visit to the Caribbean I’d been dying to go back so was super excited when a trip to Cayman came up. Little Cayman is quite possible H E A V E N on earth, Cayman Brac has so much character and stunning coastlines, to that ‘island life’ vibe on Grand Cayman, a destination that I couldn’t recommend anymore!
4.) Iceland - Ben and I took our first holiday to Iceland just six weeks into our relationship, everyone thought it was ‘too soon’ to be going away together, but we threw caution to the wind, it felt right so we chucked it in the fuck it bucket and did it! Oh boy, it was bloody BEAUTIFUL!! From the Golden Circle, to the Blue Lagoon and vast, stunning landscapes - I will treasure that trip and all it’s beauty FOREVER! I’d love to go back in the summer as I can imagine the contrast to Winter is so vast (they have 24 hours of sunlight in the summer - how cool?!), funnily enough I’m writing this blog post having flown from Iceland during a stop over on mine and Kat’s trip to NYC, it made me realise how much I need to go back!
5.) Maldives - Ahhhh the Maldives, another destination that has a special place in my heart (pretty much anywhere I’ve been with Ben falls into that category… LOL VOM), on a real though - the Maldives is quite possibly the most picturesque, breathtakingly beautiful place I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting! I first went last year on a press trip and absolutely loved it, it’s the kind of ‘pinch-me-is-this-real’ beautiful, you know?! Myself and Ben headed there earlier this year for 9 days and he was OBSESSED with it’s beauty, I know I’m super lucky to have visited somewhere that beautiful twice in my life; both trips I created memories that will last a lifetime!
6.) Bath - Having recently come home from a weekend in Bath I felt like I had to include this city as it’s my other must-visit recommendation here in the UK!! It was my third trip back and I honestly feel like every time I go back, I fall in love just a little bit harder! It’s SO stunning and the one place in the UK that I’m like ‘yeah, THIS is Britain to me’ from the quaint little cafes, the cobbled streets and the INCREDIBLE wealth of history the city has to offer. Bath really has something for everyone, from EPIC shopping to infamous gin bars, the Roman baths, rooftop pools and restaurants on the canals - a MUST!
7.) Thailand - Thailand was my first real experience of ‘travelling’ around 4/5 years ago, I spent six weeks there with my ex and absolutely fell in love with the country. I’ve since returned four times and can’t get enough of the place - the people are just so beautiful - both inside and out, the beaches are like something straight from a postcard and the food, oh well, the food is just UNREAL! Ben and I went to Phuket last December and I’m always dreaming of my next trip back!
8.) Singapore - Singapore will always have a special place in my heart, Ben is half Singaporean and we took our second holiday together there - from the street food, to watching the evening light show at Gardens by the Bay, swimming in the rooftop pool of Marina Bay Sands and partying at Clarke Quay - I absolutely LOVED Singapore and already can’t wait to return one day!
9.) Las Vegas - OMFG Las Vegas is quite possibly the craziest, funnest, absurd place on earth and I absolutely adored every minute of it! We spent two days in Vegas as a part of our Trek America trip and from the second I arrived I was hooked - it’s one of those places where you’re actually like “Is this even real life?!”, everything is crazy over the top and amazing all rolled into one. From pool parties with Calvin Harris, to 4am noodles at the Venetian, waterslides through shark tanks and crazy party buses, there’s only one party destination that will always have my heart!
10.) Cornwall - I took my dad and step mum to Cornwall a few months ago for their joint 60th birthday and I was actually shook that I’d never been before. Like it was CRAZY BEAUTIFUL I was kind of ashamed of myself for not making it there previously! I couldn’t believe the stunning coastlines, quaint towns and beautiful scenery - we had the best time staying in a picturesque cottage and spent our weekend sunbathing on the beach, strolling through cute villages and eating fresh scones with clotted cream.. an absolute treat right here in the UK!
There we have it - my top 10 travel destinations! What are yours?! I'd LOVE some recommendations as I'm starting to plan next years adventures!
