Two BABE'IN Holiday Outfits From Matalan & How I Style Them In The UK
Take a look at my top two holiday outfits from Matalan; and how I style them back in the UK!
OUTFIT #1: Jumpsuit | Shoes | Bag | Earrings
I popped into Matalan on Oxford Street the other day and was genuinely BLOWN AWAY by how many babe'in items they had in store; from swimwear, to beach cover ups, off the shoulder dresses and summer sandals - they had pretty much nailed every trend and I coulnd't wait to try on some bits for my recent holiday to the Maldives, I found it hard to narrow down what to pick as everything fitted so nicely! Matalan challenged me to style two outfits on holiday, BUT I had to pick pieces that I could style back here in the UK - so let's take a look at what I picked and how I styled them, both on holoiday and at home!...
So, the first item I picked up was this DREAMY black tassel jumpsuit, I found it in the beach section and loved it both as a bikini cover up but also to dress up of an evening. I made sure I packed plenty of loose clothing as the Maldives is SO bloody hot and this jumpsuit came in perfectly; priced at just £14 it was rude not to really?! I loved the hassle detail and think it personally looks way more expensive that it is! I styled this jumpsuit with these FAB rust orange platforms priced at £18 (I loved them so much that I went back the other day to buy them in light grey.. HURRAH FOR MATALAN!). To complete outfit one I picked out this £8 (yup, you read that right!), suedette cross body bag in rust orange, some gold hoops (£4).
Outfit #2: Top | Skirt | Shoes
For my second outfit I was instantly drawn to this red ruffle top as my statement piece, I'm OBSESSED with red right now and loved the £10 price tag too! This top is a really great length and would look great layered over some jeans, however on holiday I decided to style it tucked into a ripped denim skirt which I picked up for £14, to finish the outfit I chose these black lace up sandals which were perfect for holiday - I know I'll be getting SO much wear out of them this summer; oh and the price?! Just £14.. HUBBA HUBBA!
Now, it's time to see how I styled my holiday pieces back in the UK!...
Outfit #1: Jumpsuit | Shoes | Shirt | Clutch
Outfit #1: as the tassel jumpsuit was my 'staple piece' of outfit 1; that's the item I chose to style back here in the UK! As soon as the weather starts warming up I can definitely see myself wearing this jumpsuit back home, even when the weather gets colder it would love great layered over a thin roll neck! I went back to store once I'd landed from my trip to pick up some items to style this jumpsuit and here's what I came up with! So, the first item was this cream frayed hem shirt (now in the sale for just £12!), I loved this shirt and thought it would look great layered over the jumpsuit! For footwear; I've already confessed how much I adored the rust coloured platforms so I picked them up in the light grey for £18, and selected this mini grey bag to go with them - priced at just £10 it was an absolute STEAL! Oh, and this BABE of a clutch is just £10 (!!!) and will jazz up any Summer outfit.. how cute?!
Outfit #2: Top | Dress | Shoes
Outfit 2: I absolutely LOVED wearing this cold shoulder ruffle top on holiday; and I couldn't wait to style it back in the UK! When I headed to store I spotted this ruffle denim dress (£18) when I walked in and fell in love, as the sleeve/frill detail of the top was my favourite part I wanted to make sure this was still the focus so decided to layer the denim dress over it - I really love this look and can see myself wearing this on Summer days in the UK! To complete the outfit I styled these £18 grey platforms (same as the rust orange ones, I loved them so much I went back to get them in the other colour!).
