"Self confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it"
So, last week I posted the above picture on Instagram, I was super nervous to post it and *almost didn't post it, but then I decided to chuck it in the fuck it bucket (the best kind), and posted it.
And oh my god, the amount of wonderful comments and love I got was SO overwhelming! I was truly expecting to have some people trashing me or hating on my post, but no, nothing but pure love.
Which made me realise it's about time we stopped trashing ourselves, it only makes it easier for other people too. Let's show ourselves the love that other people show us. I'm not ashamed of my body, in the last year or so (I'm blaming that loved up relationship ting!), I've put on weight, I've been conscious of it and I've been trying to get my body back to a place where I'm happy with it. For me, not for anyone else, because I want to look in the mirror and think DAYUMMMM GIRL YOU FLY!
Although right now I'm not *100% happy with my body, I've decided to turn any negative energy into positive and love what I'm working with, after all you only have one body, and yeah, it might not *always look exactly how you want it to, but that's how it looks so learn to love the skin you're in.
I know in my heart that I'll never be an 'Instagram girl', I have cellulite on my legs, I bruise like a peach, my boobs are bloody massive (inserts eye roll emoji), and I'm just a curvy kind of girl, always have been and always will be. But it's something that I'm proud of, I want to hold my hand up and say that I LOVE MY BODY THE WAY IT IS. And you should too.
In a generation where we're obsessed with social media, it's so easy to compare ourselves to beautiful girls and feel down on it, but sometimes we need to remember that everyone is showcasing their best parts, and those girls might also be insecure, or have parts of their body they aren't happy with. If you want to look like a model, then you go girl - BUT, do it for you, not because the world wants to see you that way, but because you want to be that way.
However you want to be, just be, and let that be enough!
Oh, and if you're having a day when you're not loving yourself quite as much as you should; then take some wise advice from the babe that is J.K.Rowling...
