Checking In: Angsana Laguna Phuket
Why the Angsana Laguna Phuket NEEDS to be added to your travel bucket list if you're visiting Thailand! - Words & Pictures by Hayley...
Today marks the last day of my reviews from a trip to Phuket back in December; and you know what they say about saving the BEST until last.. yeah, that! Myself and Ben stayed at the Angsana Laguna Phuket resort for 3 nights and had the most wonderful time; now grab a cuppa whilst I enlighten you on how the resort NEEDS to be added to your travel bucket list - especially if you're heading to Thailand anytime soon! Let's do this...
Where? 10 Moo 4 Srisoonthorn Road, Phuket, 83110, Thailand
Upon arrival: We arrived to the Angsana Laguna Phuket to be greeted by the most wonderful staff; we were welcome with drinks and cold towels which was SO refreshing! There were also the cutest little birds wandering reception who we made pals with; Ben started feeding them and they practically attached themselves to us; what a welcome! *inserts heart in eyes emoji*.
The rooms: During our stay we had a Laguna Grand Room - King; complete with a lush balcony overlooking the laguna, a HUGE king sized bed, a sofa and lounge area, and a glass fronted bathroom (my favourite part!), as you could have a bath and still look out at the beautiful Laguna view! The room was super spacious and decorated so elegantly with a luxe Thai twist - stunning!
The hotel: I have one word for this resort: WOW. It was one of those places that just keeps getting better and better; beauty in every corner you turn, constantly taking your breath away. Having stayed at the Angsana Maldives resort; I felt like there was definitely 'Angsana' features that linked the resorts together, which I love! It's always so lovely to stay in hotels under the same group and to see their similarities. At the same time; the Angsana Laguna Phuket had really incorporated both luxe and traditional Thai designs into the property which was simply stunning!Highlights of the Angsana Laguna Phuket include it's beach front location; wide array of activities such as outdoor yoga, pamper yourself at their spa, try one of their 7 restaurants including a kids cafe and beach club where you can laze in a cabana and sip on a cocktail. Try a lagoon sailing session; a couples massage, go bike riding or diving; or simply enjoy happy hour on the beach. This resort honestly offers SO much to do; we could have spent SO much longer than 3 days there; you'll never run out of things to do at the Angsana Laguna Phuket!
The food: As I previously mentioned the resort offers 7 different restaurants; all listed below...
- Baan Talay - delicious Thai dishes with a focus on fresh and juicy seafood
- Bodega & Grill - dine al fresco under a pillared porch lit by romantic lights
- Tree House Cafe - specifically built for children to have a feast and enjoy activities
- Loy Krathong Bar - Enjoy live entertainment, varied drinks menu and an evening of relaxation
- Market Place - Serves up a delicious range of buffet breakfast to set you up for your day ahead
- Poolside - Sit on the deck or laze by the pool and enjoy refreshments from the poolside menu
- XANA Beach Club - enjoy cocktails, live entertainment and fresh food during the day or evening
We were lucky enough to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the Market Place every morning. I have to say it was the most impressive buffet I've EVER seen, I've genuinely never seen so many options; from fresh juices, to pancakes, full cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, waffles, noodles, yoghurts and pastries - it was so overwhelming but absolutely DELICIOUS!One night we dined at the Bodega & Grill restaurant with the hotels manager and it was such a lovely evening; we chatted about our lives, adventures and planned travels over a lovely bottle of red wine and the most incredible steak I've ever eaten (huge statement for me as I'm not usually a big steak eater but it was truly delicious!). During our trip we also dined at the Poolside during the daytime and spent our last evening enjoying cocktails and delicious Thai food at the XANA Beach Club - the staff were amazing and recommended us some delicious cocktails! The spa: It felt only right to end this post on one of my favourite parts of the resort; the spa! Myself and Ben were treated to the most INCREDIBLE hour long Signature Massage and it was heavenly! I always try to book in a massage when I'm travelling long haul as my body always feels like it's in dire need of some TLC! In true Thai style we started the massage with a foot scrub and soak then we practically drifted off for an hours blissful massage (I cannot promise that I didn't fall asleep/snore/dribble.. OOPS!).
