Capturing #UnmissableMoments With Panasonic
A full review of the Panasonic LUMIX GX80 camera; including my favourite features and images captured!
GALS <3.. It feels like it's been ages since I've blogged (literally only five days) but I've had a crazy busy/exciting week and kind of got swept along with the wave. BUT I'm back and I am SO friggin' excited to share today's post with you all. So, my main gal Kat has just come home from a month long trip to Oz/New Zealand/Singapore and we had the most EPIC catch up/shoot session the other day. I adore Kat; we met through work as she's shot some campaigns with me but I've truly found a friend in that girl, we could sit and chat for ages, shooting together is a breeze and we're now travel buddies.This week I was trialling out the new Panasonic LUMIX GX80 to capture #UnmissableMoments so myself and Kat decided to play tourist in our city and shoot along the way! I always find it funny that I share so much travel contents and guides packed full with tips but I've never *really played tourist in my own city. I adore London; always have and always will but whenever I head there for work I'm dashing from one meeting to the next and I never really stop to take in the sites. So, we wandered along south bank, took in the sites of the London eye and Big Ben and stopped for coffee and a natter; it was so nice to just BE. Not have to rush on and off the sweaty tube, or run from meeting in packed Soho, we just spent the afternoon capturing our day on the new Panasonic LUMIX GX80; here's what we got up to!... 
I'm going to start off by talking about how just down right FABULOUS this camera is and all the plus points; then I'll go on to show you the images that Kat took using the Panasonic LUMIX GX80. So just to confirm; any snaps of me USING the camera were shot on Kat's Canon, but the rest are shot on the camera.. cool, huh?! *Spoiler... the camera is bloody awesome!!
Capturing unmissable moments; So, the camera's biggest selling point (and the most impressive in my eyes!), the Panasonic LUMIX GX80 reacts as quickly as you do, part of the LUMIX 4K photo range, you can film in 4K quality at 30 frames per second and extract the perfect shot as an 8MP still image. Which enables you to not have to worry about shooting and filming at the same time as you can pull stills from your video.. how cool?! The camera also has a post focus function which gives you the freedom to choose the focus point even after you've taken the shot and offers a dual image stabiliser.
Shooting in 4K: With 4K technology this camera allows you to record every moment with up to 4x the resolution of full HD, which leads to clearer detail and more clarity; meaning that you really can capture every moment without thinking twice!
Fold out screen: I use the fold out screen to help me take some shots of Big Ben as it was easier to set my camera on the ledge and adjust the frame with the fold out screen rather than crouching down and not being able to take the shot I really wanted to. I love this feature and find it really handy, especially if you need to rest the camera on a flat surface to get your shot!
Interchangeable lenses: Another feature that I LOVE about this camera is that the lens is interchangeable. I've had my beloved Olympus PEN for quite some time now and was thrilled to find out that I could use my 45mm lens on the camera. I see this as a massive positive point as if you're thinking of purchasing the camera it doesn't mean you have to fork out on loads of new kit too. Absolute WINNER in my eyes!
How much will the Panasonic LUMIX GX80 cost me? The camera retails at £729.99 which is a great price considering the 4K compatibility and the interchangeable lens feature. I love how compact and lightweight the camera is too; it offers incredible footage and images but retails a hell of a lot cheaper a DSLR camera. It's portable and fantastic for travelling with the video/photo 4K dual offering. I could definitely see myself using this camera for travels!
