Shop my top 10 books:

JoJo Moyes - The Give of Stars:My sister in law bought me this book last Christmas and I'd only just got around to reading it a few months back and I have to say that I absolutely LOVED it. This book was so beautifully written about love, loss, unity and friendship, I don't want to spoil the story line on this one so I'll just say - add it to your to read list, pronto!

Dolly Alderton - Ghosts: I flew through this book in just under two days back in December when I went on a little solo staycation, I just couldn't put it down. It's a super easy to read, laugh out loud book about dating, self worth and friendships - I found this book super light hearted and the perfect read for lockdown! I actually bought this book as a present for two of my friends who also really enjoyed it!

Khaled Hosseini - A Thousand Splendid Suns Okay, WOW! This book was recommended to me over the Christmas holidays by a follower and I can honestly say it's one of the BEST books I've read in a long time. I feel like books that really wow you are quite few and far between but I can honestly say this is in my favourite 5 all time reads. It's an insight on life in Afghanistan and so unbelievably sobering, a must-read for everyone!

Khaled Hosseini - The Kite Runner: After I'd read A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini I went straight online to order And The Mountains Echoed (I'm currently reading this now!), and The Kite Runner. I adored The Kite Runner and the way Khaled writes, he manages to transport you into the book and to really feel every step of the story. Another eye opening, heartbreaking read by Khaled - a must read from me!

Elizabeth Gilbert - City of Girls: I read this late last year and really enjoyed it, a story of glamour and grit about showgirls in New York during the 1940's! I adore New York and loved reading this book like I was living through the era with them! A Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller and I can see why, get this one on your list!

Bridget Collins - The Binding: A follower kindly recommended this book to me and I have to admit I wasn't into it straight away, I couldn't quite see where it was going and just didn't feel gripped. I decided to pursue it and am so glad I did, around 1/4 of the way through something just clicked and I couldn't put it down. I loved how the second half of the book unravelled and the ending was great too, if you're struggling to get into this book stick with it as I really enjoyed it in the end, it was really quite magical!

Hanya Yanagihara - A Little Life: This book absolutely RUINED me, I mean full break down in the bath over the ending and it just left me a bit heart broken. That being said, I really think this is a book that everyone needs to read at least once. The most heartbreaking story about abuse, lack of self love / worth and heartbreak. This book will break you, but read it if you can!

Matt Haig - The Midnight Library: I LOVE a good Matt Haig book (I've read both The Humans and Reasons To Stay Alive and think Matt is a wonderful author!), I ordered The Midnight Library and devoured it in a couple of days, I absolutely adored the concept of parallel universes and how Nora has a glimpse of the many lives she leads simultaneously. I think there's such a valuable lesson to be learnt from this book, linked to how we're always questioning ourselves and the "what if I'd done this / taken this path". A great concept and a great read - loved it!

Beth O'Leary - The Flat Share: I really, really enjoyed this book a super light hearted and lovely read about how two people sharing a flat (who've never met), fall in love through their actions and letters to each other. If you're looking for an easy read, then this book is the perfect choice!

Margarita Montimore - The Rearranged Life of Oona Lockhart: I picked up this book in Waterstones a couple of months back and really loved it. Again a similar (ish) concept to the Midnight Library, Oona is able to jump forwards and backwards through time (each year at midnight), to a different year in her life, although she has no idea which year she'll end up in and what will happen - I really enjoyed this book and loved the concept! Definitely one for your 'to-read' list!
