A Home Away From Home In London; The Arch Hotel
Why I think The Arch is the PERFECT home-from-home staycation in central London!
The Arch; 50 Great Cumberland Place, Marble Arch, London W1H 7FD
This weekend just gone; I checked myself and mumma into the STUNNING Arch Hotel in central London for an evening of Mothers Day pampering and pure BLISS. We honestly both had the most wonderful time and I'm about to delve into exactly why!...Checking in: We were greeted by possibly the friendliest hotel staff I've ever met; to be told that our room had been upgraded to The Abbey suite which was incredible news! On first impressions myself and my mum were both so in LOVE with didn't think it could get any better until we were told about the upgrade! The room: As I mentioned above; our room was upgraded upon arrival which was just the BEST news! The lovely team at The Arch had upgraded us to the Abbey Studio Suite and oh my god it was INCREDIBLE! My favourite feature had to the stunning patio area (or the TV in the bath - I can't decide which as both were equally as bloody fabulous!), from the giant (COMFIEST) bed, to the espresso machine, pop up TV from the end of the bed and the rain shower - this suite really was something special! The hotel staff made us feel so very welcome from the second we arrived; and due to the apartment feel of the suite it honestly felt like home!
The wonderful ESPA gift the hotel staff gave to my mamma after our three course meal - how lovely?!
Dining at Hunter 486: During our stay we were kindly treated to a wonderful three-course meal at the Hunter 486 restaurant; a luxury fine dining restaurant which serves an enticing range of homemade cuisine. I ordered the salt beef croquettes for starters, slow cooked lamb shank for main and chocolate fondant for dessert and OHMIGOD it was just SO bloody good! Mum ordered chicken liver for starters, followed by steak and fruit salad - the food was just divine!
Breakfast: On Monday morning we headed back to Hunter 486 for breakfast; where the was an incredible array of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, salmon, fresh honey and toast all being served with fresh juices and hot drinks. We decided to order from the menu and I had smoked salmon with scrambled egg and avocado and mum ordered the eggs Benedict; both breakfasts were just incredible and truly set us up for the day ahead (AKA a mammoth shopping session on Oxford Street..OOPS!).
The hotel: When Monday morning rolled around (and I'd managed to part ways with the COMFIEST bed I think I've ever slept in!), I was kindly given a guided tour of the hotel. My favourite part had to be the lounge area; which you can dine in for afternoon tea or drinks.. but check this out! They have a 'press to refresh' button for when you're ready for a drink refill.. UMM YES PLEASE! The hotel is also dog friendly and the lounge offers a doggy food menu so your pooch can snack too.. how cute?! I also LOVED the Champagne bar (who wouldn't?!), which came complete with champagne quotes on the ceiling - what a nice touch!During my tour I was also shown a recently renovated Deluxe Room and I have to say I instantly fell in love - the wallpaper/floral cushion combo just had me the second I walked in! The decor was just stunning; it also came complete with Paul Smith lamps, a TV in the bath and an EPIC view of the beautiful street below. I genuinely don't think there was a part of this hotel I could fault; it really was the perfect home away from home in London!
The location: Situated just a 5 minute walk from Marble Arch/Oxford Street - this hotel really was the perfect staycation where you're heading to London to shop, on business or purely for a night away! We couldn't believe how close it was to central London; it almost feels too good to share - like one of London's best kept secrets! But, I can honestly say that I'll be re-booking in at this hotel the next time I'm looking for a room because our stay was truly magnificent!
